Michelle: Why did you decide to grow and expand your client base to include professional athletes?

Nelson: Over the years I have developed a tremendous love and respect for sports and the players. I initially made the decision to service busy CEOs and Executives. However, because of my new understanding of pro athletes, I view them now as CEOs and Executives on the field. I remember Michael Irvin referring to Troy Aikman as “the general.” I can relate to that way of thinking. The quarterback is “the general” or CEO on the field and the other athletes the Executives who execute the business agenda or weekly game plans. Thus, including professional athletes and wanting to provide these exceptional types of travel experiences to them as well seemed like an extremely logical decision.

Michelle: What’s your most fulfilling moment in helping pro athletes plan a luxury travel experience?

Nelson: Opening their awareness to the possibilities that exist and are available to them and seeing them take action to bring it to fruition. I love the sense of accomplishment I receive from the joy on their faces or in their voices when it all comes together and we make it happen. I like to call it moving the dream to reality.

Michelle: How do you help pro athletes and their families decide which destination and concierge service is right for their situation?

Nelson: I listen to the athlete and their families’ desires for what they want in a luxury vacation. I gather the necessary information to determine the destination and services available which I believe will work best for them. After addressing their likes and dislikes, I research and then prepare my recommendations for the best options available that match the experiences which will closely meet their expectations, interests and satisfy their needs.

Michelle: What unique steps do you put in place for an utterly luxurious travel experience as opposed to simply getting pro athletes to their destination?

Nelson: Proper planning is essential. In addition, I personally alert the hotel or resort of my upcoming VIP clientele’s arrival, request any additional amenities or upgrades specifically provided to VIP clientele, reconfirm accommodations and airport transfer information for a completely smooth and stress-free experience along with a few other special touches of excellence I enjoy doing for my clients.
